Once upon a time in my early teens I used to go to a teacher who taught tuition to us. The first day I saw that the room was open and very clean. Students were learning. They used to sit over the hay mat. My guru was engaged with them. I enjoyed the tuition in my first day. A few days later, I found that our room was filled with furniture. I asked him,” Who brought a table here?”
“Sanjay! I am making this room comfortable for students.” said he.
I did not reply. But somewhere in my heart, I felt a little unpleasant. Another day, I think after a week, he brought a bench there. Accordingly, he filled the whole room with furniture that I was not enjoying. In one sense, the room with desks and benches reminded us of the usual school class room that I hated ever.
One day I was so astonished that the room was completely empty. There was not any furniture. I asked my guru, “What is the matter? There is not any furniture left.” He said sadly,” Sanjay! Nothing in the universe is better than space. ”
“Why?”
“When all the stuffs fill the room you cannot walk over it. You cannot sit on it. After all, you pay the room rent and your furniture kisses the other.”
Wow! Brilliant idea! I mesmerized myself by his words! Since then I detached myself from heavy furniture.
